Training of Film Trainers Workshop

Training of Film Trainers Workshop

Filmlab Palestine, in partnership with the Danish Film Institute and the Danish House, implemented a three-day "Training of Film Trainers" program aimed at empowering Filmlab’s staff and aspiring filmmakers to train staff from other Palestinian organizations. The primary goal was to equip them with the tools and skills needed to strengthen film education for children and youth in Palestine.

The training, led by Charlotte Giese from the Danish Film Institute and Kasper B. Olesen from Lommefilm, focused on harnessing the smart technology that young people commonly use—such as iPhones and iPads—to produce their own films and share their stories. Participants learned not only the technical aspects of filmmaking but also effective ways to engage with children and youth in discussing films they have watched, fostering critical thinking and creative expression..

"I held a three-day “train the trainer workshop”, the participant should learn how to make children and young adults make their own short films on iPads. It was a pleasure to work with a talented and dedicated crew from Filmlab: Palestine. The Filmlab itself is professional and well organized, so everything around the workshop went smooth and easy." Kasper B. Olesen, co-founder of Lommefilm - Denmark.
