The Paris Film Residency is a collaborative project designed to support Palestinian filmmakers, enabling them to enhance their craft and develop personal film projects in the inspiring setting of Paris. Organized by Filmlab Palestine in partnership with the Belfast Film Festival, Docs Ireland, and the British Council, the residency takes place each November at the Centre Culturel Irlandais, a vibrant and creative community located in the heart of the Parisian Latin Quarter.

This residency offers one Palestinian filmmaker the opportunity to reside in Paris for one month, alongside a counterpart from Northern Ireland. The residency is tailored for filmmakers who wish to use the time to write, research, or develop their projects, while also taking advantage of the chance to network with international producers and professionals. The Centre provides an ideal environment for reflection and creation, set against the backdrop of Paris’ artistic and cultural richness.

his residency is an exciting opportunity for Palestinian filmmakers, particularly directors and scriptwriters, to engage in focused project development and expand their professional networks. By providing both the time and the environment for creative work, the residency serves as a springboard for the filmmakers’ careers, helping them grow as artists and connect with the global film industry.

In addition to the residency itself, participants have the chance to further their careers by networking with professionals, producers, and filmmakers, allowing for potential future collaborations. This initiative also contributes to the broader mission of supporting emerging filmmakers and encouraging diverse voices in global cinema.
